Monique Abbott

Founder & Editor-in-Chief

I’m Monique, founder and editor-in-chief of Yes2Yolo, travel addict and lover of home makeover projects.

I’ve explored over 60 countries with my husband Nick. Together we’ve partnered on some truly exciting projects such as creating and running a successful Airbnb business, chairing condo boards, purchasing fixer-uppers and renovating them from scratch on our own while balancing all of this with full-time jobs and family responsibilities.

While my personal passions are travel and home décor, I am, by profession, a lawyer with over 17 years experience.

Nick Abbott

Travel Writer & Editor

Hi, I’m Nick. Visiting foreign countries has been an important part of my life since my parents moved to Kano in Nigeria in 1977.  Since then, as both a military officer in the Royal Air Force and later in my civilian career, I have enjoyed the huge privilege of being exposed to many different countries and cultures.

I am delighted to be able to support my wife Monique and Yes2Yolo primarily by contributing travel articles, providing editing and proof-reading services and being a general sounding board.

De Marley Cohen

Photographer

Hi I’m De Marley. I’m excited to be supporting Monique (my aunt) and Yes2Yolo primarily as a photographer.

I got into this by pure chance when I started playing around with Monique’s Canon camera and realized that I had a knack for it. I still have a lot to learn about photography but for now I just enjoy taking YOLO pictures!

I’m currently pursuing my A’Levels (6th form) in the languages and Performing Arts. When I’m not occupied with studying, I spend my time dancing, creating music, leading various extra-curricular activities and doing graphic designing. I am a jack of all trades but a master of none, but I believe that a jack of all trades is still better than the master of one.
